MALAYSIAN Indian Congress chief Samy Vellu had to cut his rally short after he was nearly accosted by more than 10 supporters of the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) on Tuesday.

The incident took place at 1pm when Mr Samy Vellu arrived in a market in Prai, Penang, to canvass for votes, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.

The MIC chief, who is also the Works Minister, was about to begin his rally speech and press conference when the protesters marched up to him.

Despite the presence of 50 police officers, several of the protesters managed to break through Mr Samy Vellu's security detail.

The protesters wanted Mr Samy Vellu to discuss the problems facing the Indian community as well as to release Hindraf members who have been detained for demonstrating in Kuala Lumpur last November.

But when Mr Samy Vellu saw his accosters, he quickly escaped by hopping into his car and driving off to his next destination.

This only enraged the Hindraf supporters, who kept shouting at him, saying that he should not leave if he had not done anything wrong.

Mr Samy Vellu has been labelled a political liability after several embarrassing incidents.

Besides last November's protest, which accused the MIC of failing to protect the Indian community's welfare, the Works Ministry has been saddled with problems, from leaky roofs in the Malaysian Parliament House to cracks in a major highway in Kuala Lumpur.

Speaking to reporters, the Hindraf supporters said they had no intention of hurting Mr Samy Vellu.

Claiming that the Indian community is underprivileged, the Hindraf supporters said they just wanted 10 minutes of Mr Samy Vellu's time because they felt they deserved an explanation from him.

In a separate incident that evening, Mr Samy Vellu was forced to cancel a walkabout in Lunas, Kedah, after 3,000 Hindraf supporters demonstrated against his appearance there, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The demonstrators had gathered there at 6.30pm, after getting wind of Mr Samy Vellu's appearance.

More than 70 riot police officers were deployed to the scene.

The son of opposition politician NGobalakrishnan was among the protesters, and he and two others were detained.

The standoff continued until 7.45pm, when Mr Gobalakrishnan, who is the vice-president of Parti Keadilan Rakyat, arrived at the scene and asked the police to release the detainees.

Mr Gobalakrishnan was allowed to fetch his son from the Lunas Police Station.

At an earlier press conference, MrSamy Vellu insisted that only a minority of Indians were dissatisfied with the Barisan Nasional coalition government.

He also said he believed that the BN could easily resolve the dissatisfaction of this minority.

Two cars bearing 8 of us and plastered with the BR posters set out to Rembau to lend support to Chegubard’s campaign.

Enroute, stopped at Nilai and Senawang to deliver BR posters.

Reached Rembau town at about 9pm.

After a address to some 200 mostly Malay audience, Chegubard introduced the first speaker and left for his next stop. Not, however, without first asking me to also address the small but attentive crowd.

Zaharin (aka Sang Kelembai) spoke at length, for more than an hour. When I finally took the mike, I told the crowd that Zaharin had so exhaustively dealt with all the issues affecting the country that I had little reason to detain them further.

I had three short messages for them :

First, time to end the divide and rule of BN which left the Malays manipulated by UMNO, the Chinese manipulated by MCA and the Indians subjugated by MIC. BN was perpetuating this divide and rule and abusing the NEP to enrich their own cronys.

Second, do not fall victim to the BN spin-doctoring of the Hindraf rally as being a ‘race issue. This rally was in fact a brave an selfless effort by 30,000 anak Bangsa Malaysia that laid bare the extent of marginalisation of Malaysians in the country of all races.

Third, time for the NEP to go, as is being called for by many in civil society and amongst many, if not all, the Barisan Rakyat parties and to be replaced with an affirmative program that is not race-based. This is the only way for this nation to move forward.

Managed to catch up with Cegubard before we left.

He was complaining about how six of his billboards disappeared that very evening!

Left him wiith a promise that we would be down again if he needed any help in opposing nepotism becoming the order of the day in Malaysian politics.

Also left a stack of BR posters with his campaign team after exacting a promise that it would be put up. Folks in Paroi, look out for these posters.

Hamzah pernah menjadi Ketua Umno Ipoh Barat. Hamzah merupakan salah seorang saksi sewaktu perbicaraan Anwar yang dilibatkan dengan dakwaan cuba menggoda isteri barunya (isteri no. 2).Dalam perbicaraan tersebut, Hamzah telah mendedahkan rakaman perbualan antara isteri barunya dengan Anwar sebagai bukti.( Gambar menunjukan Datuk Seri Mohd Tajol Rosli Ghazali (tengah) dipeluk oleh calun Larut Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin sewaktu perisytiharaan nama calun Umno)

Sebenarnya ,’suara’ Anwar dalam rakaman tersebut adalah suara ‘Yusof Chong’ pelawak terkenal yang pandai meniru suara orang-orang terkenal seperti Samy Vellu, Lim Keng Yaik, Mohammad Rahmat, Ling Leong Sik, dan ramai lagi. Beliau suatu ketika dulu mempunyai siaran rancangan diTV dimana beliau telah mempamerkan kepakarannya meniru suara orang terkenal dalam negara terutamanya para pemimpin politik.

Hamzah telah meninggalkan isteri pertamanya, Nooraini, seorang yang bersopan santun seperti mana wanita kampong yang biasa untuk berkahwin dengan isteri barunya yang kelihatan lebih bergaya, seseorang yang kononnya telah dapat menggoda Anwar.

Hamzah sebenarnya mengahwini isteri barunya itu untuk dijadikan bahan ‘pertunjukan’ untuk pergi lebih jauh lagi dalam bidang perniagaan . Hamzah sebenarnya berasa dimalukan oleh isteri pertamanya kerana terlalu ‘simple’ sangat orangnya.

Hamzah kemudiannya menyuruh isteri barunya itu untuk mendampingi Anwar dan cuba memikatnya, yang ketika itu adalah Timbalana Perdana Menteri dan Menteri Kewangan, untuk mendapatkan beberapa kontrak kerajaan untuk syarikatnya. Hamzah berasa yakin yang isteri glamornya itu mampu menggoda Anwar.

Tetapi Anwar berasa muak dengan panggilan telepon yang kerapkali dari isteri Hamzah itu hingga beliau mengarahkan pejabatnya supaya menyekat panggilan masuk darinya.Ini menyebabkan Hamzah marah dan kemudian menuduh Anwar cuba memikat isterinya , padahal yang sebenarnya adalah yang sebaliknya. Hamzah, sebenarnya memperalatkan isterinya supaya menggoda Anwar dengan harapan Anwar akan mempunyai hubungan sulit dengan nya dan sebagai balasannya kelak , Anwar akan memberikan kontrak kerajaan kepada syarikatnya.

Tetapi ianya tidak berhasil dan ini sangat mengecewakan Hamzah lantaran itu dia mendendami Anwar. Dan Hamzah memang mampu membalas dendam tersebut dengan memperalatkan isterinya itu walau bagaimana pun asalkan dia beroleh keuntungan kewangan darinya.

Awal Kehidupan Hamzah

Hamzah memulakan kerjayanya sebagai kontraktor kerajaan pada tahun 1980an, lebih dari 20 tahun yang lalu, apabila beliau mengetuai sebuah syarikat diI Ipoh bernama Justera Sdn Bhd. Justera adalah anak syarikat kepada Construction and Supply House Berhad (CASH) diketuai oleh Dato Syed Ibrahim, seorang kroni Daim Zainuddin . Daim adalah Menteri Kewangan Malaysia dan CASH merupakan salah satu syarikat utamanya.

Justera mengambil bahagian dalam banyak kontrak kerajaan Malaysia diseluruh negeri tetapi semua kontrak tersebut ‘gagal’ belaka. Modus operandi Hamzah ialah mendapatkan kontrak dan kemudiannya membuat tuntutan ‘bayaran kemajuan’ . Setelah dia menerima bayaran tersebut dari kerajaan, dia pun tinggalkan projek tersebut. Projek Perumahan Jabatan Ugama Kedah dan Lebuhraya Gerik merupakan dua contoh dimana Hamzah telah membuat keuntungan berjuta-juta dengan meninggalkan projek tersebut tergendala.

Kesudahannya , syarikatnya telah di senarai hitamkan dan dia tahu dia tidak akan mendapat sebarang kontrak kerajaan lagi.Dia kemudiannya mengubah modus operandinya dengan menyertai tender kerja-kerja kerajaan dengan harga yang sangat rendah.

Kemudian dia akan pergi menemui kontraktor lain , biasanya orang Cina dan menawarkan untuk menarik diri dari tender tersebut dan membenarkan kontraktor tersebut memenanginya, dengan membayat sedikit imbuhan kepadanya.

Hamzah membuat jutaan hanya dengan menyertai tender dan menarik semula tender tersebut dengan bayaraan M500,000 satu kontrak. Dengan lima atau enam kontrak sebulan, jutaan melimpah masuk kedalam akaun banknya.

Dan itulah sebababnya maka mahkamah mendapati nya layak untuk membayar kepada isteri yang ditinggalkannya itu wang berjumlah RM11.206 juta, yang merupakan sebahagian sahaja dari apa yang ada padanya.

Tetapi bukan itu sahaja.Ada banyak lagi kisah tentang Hamzah Zainuddin .Tengok-tengoklah esok jika saya ada kesempatan, insya’ Allah saya akan dedahkan lagi skendal panas beliau.

UMNO UGUT AHLI NYA .... PECAT !!!

‘Pecat pengkhianat’

KUALA LUMPUR: Ahli Umno yang khianat dan mensabotaj parti dengan ‘menikam calon dari belakang’ atau menyokong pembangkang kerana kecewa pemimpin mereka tidak terpilih bertanding pada pilihan raya umum ini, akan dikenakan tindakan tegas termasuk dipecat keahlian.

Setiausaha Agung Umno, Datuk Seri Radzi Sheikh Ahmad, berkata parti tidak pernah berkompromi soal kesetiaan ahli dan tindakan yang diambil terhadap golongan seperti itu pada pilihan raya umum atau kecil sebelum ini adalah bukti ketegasan berhubung perkara itu.

“Mereka (ahli Umno) yang menjadi pengkhianat, menikam dari belakang, membawa bendera pembangkang, terimalah akibatnya nanti. Dalam isu disiplin, Umno tegas termasuk memecat mereka dari parti dengan mengemukakan bukti dalam Mesyuarat Pengurusan mengenai tindakan mereka itu.

“Perkara itu sama bagi semua parti komponen Barisan Nasional (BN) yang lain. Pucuk pimpinan parti masing-masing juga akan mengambil tindakan serupa,” katanya ketika dihubungi di Perlis, semalam.

Beliau yang juga Setiausaha Agung BN diminta mengulas dakwaan ada jentera pilihan raya Umno masih gagal dibuka, walaupun selepas kempen bermula. Ia didakwa ada kaitan dengan tindakan ‘boikot’ penyokong kerana pemimpin mereka tidak terpilih bertanding.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri yang juga Timbalan Presiden Umno, Datuk Seri Najib Razak minggu lalu mengingatkan mereka yang tidak dipilih semula sebagai calon supaya menghormati keputusan pucuk pimpinan dan tidak sesekali mensabotaj parti pada Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-12, 8 Mac ini.

Pada Mei 2004, Umno mengumumkan mula bertindak terhadap 454 ahli yang didakwa mensabotaj parti pada pilihan raya umum pada Mac tahun sama, termasuk 22 orang dipecat secara automatik seumur hidup kerana bertanding sebagai calon Bebas. - Berita Harian

No2umno - Umno sudah semakin terdesak. Sedar bahawa percaturan calun baru baru ini telah menimbulkan suasana yang genting antara ahli UMNO. Masa depan sesetengah orang di dalam UMNO sudah tidak dapat di jamin lagi. Beruk Rembau sudah mengawal segala galanya. UMNO bakal terkubur dengan akibat pergolakan dalam yang berlaku gara gara gila kuasa menantu abdullah badawi.

Kini anggota UMNO yang tidak bersetuju diugut. Pecat mereka !!! Budaya samseng berlaku di peringkat dalaman. Tidak cuba untuk membuat penerangan dan pujuk ahli tetapi dengan amaran dan amaran.......AWAS UMNO !!! anda sedang diperhatikan. Anda sedang di nilai oleh rakyat !!!

A friend of mine posted in his blog that he's now busy helping Khairy Jamaluddin (son-in-law) in the coming general election. He said that he's supporting this particular candidate since he believe that this ambitious politician is one for the future. KJ is the deputy president of Pemuda UMNO and just because of that, he deserves a seat to contest.

He also mentioned that even though some (including me, honest) didn't share his political view as an UMNO supporter, he is a strong believer that the party is the right party for his voice to be heard. Ok, I'm still fine with that. Really. I think he really has a point for for saying that. After all, honestly I don't really believe the opposition front is capable of getting one-third of the majority, let alone getting the majority of parliamentary seats and form the new government.

What amazed me was when he mentioned that he knows that there are FEW bad apples in his party and that FEW don't represent the majority. No party is perfect.

FEW? Really? Really? There are just FEW bad apples in your party? I really think you should replace that with the term MANY or maybe, just use the word MAJORITY.

Fitnah UMNO/BN dan keris plastik

Sekarang ini disebarkan fitnah di Kulim Bandar Baharu kononnya saya telah menarik diri dan digugurkan dari pencalunan pilihanraya. Kononnya ada lapuran dibuat dan saya telah kehilangan kelayakan bertanding atas dakwaan saya tidak memfailkan Penyata Kewangan. Saya menafikan sekeras-kerasnya fitnah ini dan menyatakan bahawa:

1. penamaan calun bagi Parlimen Kulim Bandar Baharu telah ditutup pada jam 10 pagi 24 Feb 2008;

2. Tempoh bantahan telah ditutup pada jam 11pagi hari yang sama;

3. Pegawai Pengurus pilihanraya peringkat P-18 Parlimen Kulim Bandar Baharu iaitu Tuan Haji Mohd. Noh yang juga Pegawai Daerah Bandar Baharu, telah mengumumkan, pada jam 12 tengahari 24 Feb 2008 bahawa pencalunan saya sebagai calun Parti KeADILan Rakyat bagi Parlimen P-18 Kulim Bandar Baharu telah diterima tanpa sebarang bantahan. Oleh itu saya diisytihar sebagai calun Parlimen P-18 Kulim Bandar Baharu dengan writ pilihanraya dikeluarkan dan pengundian akan dijalankan pada 08 Mac 2008;

4. Oleh itu, tidak timbul sebarang persoalan tentang ketidaklayakan calun sehinggalah pengundian dijalankan dan pemenang diisytiharkan pada 08 Mac 2008;

5. SPR atau mana-mana pegawai dan/ atau ejennya tiada kuasa atau dalam bahasa undang-undang adalah functus officio selain daripada menjalankan pengundian sahaja;

6. Mana-mana pihak yang tidak berpuas hati dengan keputusan pilihanraya bolehlah memohon Mahkamah untuk menyemak semula perjalananpilihanraya;

Berkaitan Penyata Kewangan, saya telah pun memfailkan dokumen berkenaan. Malahan saya telahpun mendapat semula pengembalian wang pertaruhan calun (RM10,000-00) dan wang deposit bahan pilihanraya (RM5,000-00) yang wang ini tidak akan dikembalikan kecuali Penyata Kewangan Calun telah difailkan.

Ini adalah tindakan desperate UMNO/ BN yang nak menang free dengan berselindung disebalik skirt SPR. Saya cabar Aziz kalau benar Pemuda UMNO anak jantan..jangan hanya berani pacak keris dalam perhimpunan depan khalayak sendiri..jangan berani ugut nak bakar dewan cina..tetapi menikus bila berhadapan dengan Mahkamah Rakyat. Saya cabar Aziz..UMNO & BN supaya mari kita berlawan secara gentleman..mari kita berdepan dengan rakyat. Atau apakah keris Aziz hanya keris plastik saje...!!!

RUMBLE IN REMBAU: IN-LAW OR OUT-LAW?

When nine of us arrived in Rembau just seven minutes to 9 Chegubard was lamenting the outlaw tactics employed by the Son-in-law to his audience. This smacks of the old addage about in-laws invariably becoming outlaws. So true. But to the 9 of us who formed the convoy to lend support to CheguBard, this was the expected modus operandi of the desperados. It was the desperation of a drowning man clutching at anything to save himself. Here is the self-annointed and protected facing a challenge from a commoner former chegu who threatened to denude the pretender emperor.

Chegubard's opponent is of course the infamous son-in-law, not shooed in to Rembau, but rather chauffeured into Rembau. It was to be a one-on-one because millions cannot buy Badrul Hisham's country-boy's soul. He thought that it would be a walk-over until he heard that an expelled teacher was challenging him. (Chegubard, if you must know was summarily expelled from the teaching profession because he spoke out against the the government, just like Zaharin Md Yasin -Sang Kelembai whom Kickdefella called Bloggers Pertama di Pecet dari UMNO, who was also a speaker for the night's ceremah.)


The simple country-folks of Rembau was in for a royal rumble. Things were not the same after nomination day. Rembau looked like it was the cynosure of all eyes in the country. When three cars, ostensibly plasterd with then unfamiliar Party Rakyat posters stopped in front of Jalil Minimarket, local eyes riveted as the contents of the three cars spilled out its unfamiliar occupants....6 chinese and three Malays, conspicuously non-Rembau locals. Imported Ah Loongs? Special Branch? Fears were soon dispelled when we exchanged handshakes and hugs with CheguBard.

It will be a battle of wits here in Rembau. But take heart chegu. Here is the clincher: When interviewed by Singapore's TODAYonline, Tun Mahatir was asked:

What do you think of the possibility of Mr Hishamuddin Hussein or Mr Khairy Jamaluddin playing a bigger role in Umno after the elections?

I think if you follow them, it will be disastrous for the party.
The nine of us feel it strongly that this will swing many votes if chegu can just get this Q&A translated into Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese and Tamil and distributed abundantly in the district. Tun Mahatir it is believed still commands a lot of respect and still revered in Rembau. JUST DO IT....the people walks with you cheguBard.

Malaysian minister warns bloggers

In the recent Malaysia election campaigns, Malaysia opposition mounts campaign in cyberspace. Opposition parties turn to cyberspace, mainly are using blogs and youtube to express their anger towards government. The opposition parties are rarely mentioned, but thanks to the internet they have begun campaigning feverishly in cyberspace with the aim of reaching young, urban, educated voter. Major mainstream media are filled with flattering stories on the government and its achievements ahead of March 8 general elections.

“They control the television but we’ve got YouTube now,” said 31-years-old Lee Sean Li, an account who avidly surfs the internet for alternative news and complains there are only negative glimpses of the opposition in the main media.

Blogs in Malaysia are becoming the last bastion of freedom of speech. In this age of convergence (which I would like to define as the death of traditional media as we know it), blogs have provided an environment for people like Jeff Oii.

In fact, more netizens were posting more controversial issues in the blogs. Opposition bloggers in particular are getting influential, their news being noticed and listened to by government, mainstream media and the public. Thus, increase public awareness and expose a lot of wrongdoings in the government.

The opposition leader Lim Kit Siang posted a speech on the upcoming elections, just minutes after Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi dissolved parliament earlier this month. The opposition leader is very professional and clever in using of technology. “Blogging is one way to get word out and an opportunity to circumvent media control,” said Lim from the Democratic Action Party (DAP), which is aiming to dent the government’s thumping majority in the upcoming vote. “We cannot neutralize the state-controlled media,” he told AFP. “But Internet pick-up rates will keep getting higher. We will not be blacked out forever.”

Media watchdog Reporters Without Borders ranks Malaysia 124 out of 169 on its worldwide press freedom index, and says the main media are “often compelled to ignore or to play down the many events organised by the opposition”.

Political dissident and ex-deputy premier Anwar Ibrahim also writes his own blog which has news links and videos of his Keadilan party’s campaign activities. Anwar last year used the site to release a video clip which allegedly showed a high-profile lawyer brokering top judicial appointments — a scandal which triggered a full royal commission of inquiry.

Thus, it is no doubt that Malaysian minister has warned bloggers that they are being monitored. Malaysian government has also tried to introduce internet laws to control bloggers and prevent the, from spreading “disharmony, controversial materials on their blogs.

BONGKAR !!! Calun BN Kedah gelapkan wang zakat RM400,000

ALOR STAR, 29 Feb (Hrkh) - Lagi skandal penyelewengan dan salah guna kuasa pemimpin Umno yang menjadi calon BN Kedah dalam pilihan raya kali ini terbongkar, kali ini melibatkan wang zakat sebanyak RM400,000.

Kenyataan Abdullah Badawi kononnya calon tajaan BN kali ini telah melalui beberapa tapisan hanya cakap bohong, kerja jahat melarikan wang Jabatan Zakat Negeri ini dilakukan oleh salah seorang pimpinan politik tertinggi negeri ini.

Jika Che Omar Saad, calon BN Dun Bukit Pinang terpalit dengan kes menggelapkan wang koperasi guru, perbuatan ini lebih jijik kerana ia adalah wang untuk golongan yang selayaknya menerima seperti anak yatim dan fakir miskin.

Difahamkan, wang zakat bernilai RM400,000 ini disalurkan oleh sebuah syarikat untuk Jabatan Zakat Negeri Kedah melalui pemimpin ini, bagaimanapun wang yang diterima pada Disember tahun lalu itu tidak diberikan kepada jabatan tersebut hingga berita ini ditulis.

Pihak jabatan telah beberapa kali meminta wang tersebut diserahkan tetapi pemimpin berkenaan meminta jabatan meluluskan sahaja wang itu untuk beliau.

Perkara ini juga telah sampai kepada pengetahuan Tuanku Sultan Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mua'adzam Shah.

Perkara ini sukar dibendung lagi kerana jabatan sering kali dihubungi oleh syarikat berkenaan yang mahukan resit penerimaan wang RM400,000 itu bagi urusan pengecualian cukai dengan pihak Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri.

Sumber memberitahu, pemimpin berkenaan menyatakan bahawa dia telah mengagihkan semua wang itu, bagaimanapun tidak dimaklumkan siapa penerimanya.

"Wang zakat bukan boeh digunakan sewenang-wenangnya, kita amat kesal dengan perbuatan pemimpin kerajaan ini, dia tidak boleh membezakan antara jawatan dan kepentingan kegunaan wang zakat, wang zakat hanya boleh diterima oleh asnaf-asnaf yang telah Islam tetapkan, bukannya untuk kegunaan peribadi," jelas sumber itu. - mns
