Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said the National Registration Department was always striving to stop this malpractice through the enforcement of the National Registration Act 1959 (Act 78) and National Registration Regulations 1990 (amended 2001 and 2007).
“The penalty under the law for possessing and using a forged MyKad is a jail term of not more than three years or a fine of not more than RM20,000, or both, upon conviction,” he said to a question from Datuk Mohamed Aziz (BN-Sri Gading) in the Dewan Rakyat today.... more.
