Kerajaan Perlis tidak pernah mengeluar arahan kepada mana-mana pegawai khas serta kakitangan Unit Bina Insan pejabat Menteri Besar Perlis agar melakukan penyebaran fitnah terhadap pemimpin tertentu, kata Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Agama Islam Perlis, Jafperi Othman hari ini.

Anwar slams cops for "overlooking" medical report

WALL STREET JOURNAL ASIA - It’s been a month since an aide to Anwar Ibrahim accused the Malaysian opposition leader of sodomy, yet no formal charge has been filed nor has Mr. Anwar been allowed to see the police report filed against him. Now, the case against Mr. Anwar looks shakier still.

Yesterday, Mr. Anwar’s supporters pointed to an independent political blog, MalaysiaToday, which posted a two-page medical report it said was written by a doctor who examined Saiful Bukhari Azlan on June 28, the day the aide went to the police with his complaint. The alleged report is written in shorthand and signed by Dr. Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid. It says that a rectal examination showed no active bleeding, tears or injury.

The hospital yesterday confirmed that Dr. Mohamed is on staff, but wouldn’t comment on the report. MalaysiaToday’s editor, Raja Petra Kamarudin, confirmed to us by telephone that he has seen the original report. Dr. Mohamed hasn’t been seen since the post on MalaysiaToday. A spokesman for the Prime Minister’s office declined comment to us. The Deputy Inspector-General of Police told the New Straits Times that investigations were continuing.

This great wall of silence raises many questions. If it’s true that Mr. Anwar’s aide didn’t present any physical signs of injury at the hospital, then on what basis was the police report filed? If the aide went to a government hospital to get a second opinion — as required under the law in sodomy cases, and as the first doctor suggested — what did that second doctor see? Anwar to be charged for sodomy as police wrap up probe

malaysiainsider | ... The police have completed their investigations into sodomy allegations against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and are going to charge the opposition icon soon for sodomising his accuser Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

Sources told The Malaysian Insider that investigators are "crossing the t's and dotting the i's" and will be relying on Anwar's DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) samples from 1998 when he faced similar charges which cost him the chance to be prime minister.

"Nobody wants a repeat of 1998 when the prosecution had to amend the charges. Anwar has alleged that he had an alibi for the 24 hours on the day the offence took place. So the authorities have to check everything out," said an official who is familiar with the investigations.
"We understand that there is an attempt to quash credibility of the case even before the matter goes to court. The police cannot say too much because then they will be accused of trial by media and ministers cannot say much because they will be accused to interference.

"This case is built on strong scientific evidence," the official added.

Anwar has claimed that he is a victim of a political conspiracy and has refused to give a blood sample for DNA tests, saying that it could be used to fabricate evidence against him.

Waving the leaked medical report today, Anwar called on the police to drop the case, saying it was proof there was a plot to implicate him in a repeat of the 1998 case.

The hospital report leaked yesterday confirms our contention that the allegations leveled against me are baseless and politically motivated and that the complainant is an outright liar working hand in glove with those in power to assassinate my character and attempt to derail the people’s aspirations for transformational change in government.

This report makes a mockery of the so-called “impartial police investigations” and clearly shows the dubious but persistent attempts to incriminate me by whatever means employable.

How else can we fathom why the police during the last four weeks of their “thorough and professional investigations” have overlooked such a critical piece of evidence? I condemn in the strongest terms their negligence, dishonesty and recklessness in humiliating the nation by dragging us all through this vile and filthy charade.

Our refusal to submit a DNA sample has been vindicated. The failure of the police to disclose this medical report all but confirms their intention to frame me. Although quite apparent even before yesterday, their desperate attempt to collect a new DNA sample is now even more clearly a last ditch effort to build a case where none exists.

The statement by Bar President Dato’ Ambiga Sreenevasan in response to this latest development bears repeating.

“The credibility of the Malaysian justice system as a whole is therefore atstake. The integrity of professionals, be they doctors or lawyers, must never be interfered with. The public must be left in no doubt that the criminaljustice system in this country will not be misused or abused.”

Several weeks ago I filed a police report implicating Musa Hassan and Gani Patail in the conspiracy to fabricate evidence in my 1998 case. The ACA subsequently opened an inquiry into the matter. Given their current involvement as heads of the police and Attorney General’s chambers, and their earlier attempts to discredit and defame me, I have consistently asserted that a fair investigation into this matter would be impossible, notwithstanding the dubious character of the complainant and his association with the Deputy Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister’s wife and, her staff, as well as key figures in the police department.

I reiterate earlier calls to ensure the safety and security of the doctor who authored this medical report. Reports that he and his family may be in danger must not be taken lightly given earlier instances when key witnesses in high-profile cases in Malaysia have been threatened, coerced or gone missing.

My family and I have endured a great deal during the last month. Our fears of arepeat of the trauma and abuse inflicted upon us in 1998 were bearable only with the tremendous outpouring of support from our friends in Malaysia and throughout the world. We breathed a deep sigh of relief upon hearing of the report and after seeing it with our own eyes felt a great burden lifted from our shoulders. We remain eternally grateful to them for their belief in us and their commitment to the cause of freedom and justice in Malaysia.

I have willingly cooperated in the police investigations; careless and vindictive though it has turned out to be. But I have decided that nation is in a grave situation economically and socially and I can no longer be distracted by such nuisances. I am now determined to move ahead with the reform agenda, which the Malaysian people endorse in the last elections, and i do not intend to address this scurrilous accusations anymore.

At a time when the world economy is spiraling into recession and Malaysia has struggled to remain competitive with its neighbors, this scandal was raised at the worst possible moment. The problems of inflation, unemployment, and investor confidence grow more serious by the day The authorities, aided by senior Ministers in the government, appear to be willfully dragging the nation’s stature down in their last ditch efforts to retain power. The international community has expressed its disdain for what is happening and that will translate to less foreign investment, less tourism and an even weaker economy.

I call upon the government to rise above petty vindictiveness and maneuvering for power, and to be sincere, honest and hence effective in its actions. The national good that, for the moment now reposes in their hands, demands nothing less.

"Tindakan undang-undang akan diambil terhadap mereka yang sengaja ingin mengganggu siasatan polis. Biar polis yang buat kerja dengan teliti," katanya.

Anwar's lawyers mull over Saiful's no-sodomy medical report

This follows from Raja Petra Kamarudin's claim in his Malaysia Today news portal that Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid from Hospital Pusrawi found no signs that Saiful had been sodomised in a June 28 medical report.

Anwar's lawyer Sankara Nair told The Malaysian Insider that there will be a meeting this evening while one of Anwar's aides said that a statement on Raja Petra's claims would be made within 24 hours.

This afternoon, PKR released the medical report by Dr Osman to the media.

Mahathir Mengaku Wujudnya Konspirasi Pada 1998

Apakah ianya tuduhan sodomi sahaja ataupun satu helah untuk mengenakan Anwar? Sudah tentu ia mengenai perkara yang terakhir tadi, kerana tidak masuk akal untuk seseorang menuduh Anwar meliwatnya hanya dengan meniru tuduhan yang serupa sepuluh tahun dahulu. Jadi dengan menggunakan perkataan ‘copycat’ untuk menjelaskan soalannya, apakah Mahathir tidak secara tak sengaja mendedahkan fikiran bawah-sedarnya bahawa kejadian yang dulu itu sesungguhnya satu konspirasi?

Condo belongs to Anwar's friend, claims Saiful

The former aide of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claimed the owner of the unit, who he said was a close friend of the former deputy prime minister, is either a committee member or branch chairman of the political party.

"Just for your info, the Desa Damansara Condo (is) owned by a close friend of DSAI (Anwar).

"His name is En XXX. If I'm not mistaken, he's a member or the ketua cawangan (branch chairman)."
However Mohd Saiful did not want to elaborate.

Kenapa pertikai hak Anwar

msomelayu | ....Samada tindakan itu tergesa-gesa untuk melindunginya daripada dakwaan liwat dibuat Saiful atau sebaliknya itu, orang lain tidak boleh mempertikaikannya. Tidak ada lokus standi untuk berbuat demikian dan apa yang dirasai Anwar kini tidak sama apa yang dipandang orang terhadapnya.

Sudah pasti sebagai orang yang kena tuduh dan diaibkan begitu rupa Anwar perlu membela diirinya dengan apa saja. Kalau perlu menggunakan pedang, keris dan lembing sekali pun Anwar perlu melakukannya.

Kenyataan Peguam Muslim Malaysia, Zaitoon Othman mempertikaikan tindakan Anwar dan menuduh Anwar cuba berselindung daripada tuduhan itu tidak adil dan nampak sangat kebencian peguam perempuan berkepala dogol itu kepada Anwar.

Kenyataan peguam perempuan tidak bertudung itu juga tidak menggambarkan sebagai peribadi muslim di mana bertentangan dengan nama persatuan yang diterajuinya itu.

Sebagai peguam muslim beliau sepatutnya mengalu-alu langkah Anwar kerana tindakan itu secara tidak langsung mendaulatkan Islam. Apa guna nama peguam muslim kalau tidak menghormati dan cuba berusaha agar undang-undang Islam diutamakan dan diamalkan di negara ini.... selanjutnya.

Langkah Anwar sesuai syariah

Menurut Seksyen 41 Akta Kesalahan Jenayah Syariah (Wilayah Persekutuan) 1997, "mana-mana orang yang menuduh orang lain melakukan zina (atau liwat) tanpa mengemukakan, mengikut hukum syarak, empat orang saksi lelaki atau ikrar orang yang dituduh itu adalah melakukan suatu kesalahan."

Anwar bawa isu liwat ke mahkamah Syariah

malaysiakini | ....Penasihat PKR mengadukan isu laporan polis Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan bulan lepas kepada unit siasatan, bahagian penguatkuasaan Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (JAWI) pagi ini.

"Atas nasihat ulama dan peguam, saya telah membuat aduan kepada bahagian penguatkuasaan, membersihkan nama saya dan keluarga daripada fitnah jahat dan mengaibkan ini," katanya selepas aduan.

"Dan saya dinasihatkan membawa kes ini mengikut undang-undang peruntukan qazaf. Jadi, (saya) minta bahagian penguatkuasaan buat siasatan segera."

Menurut seksyen 41 Akta Kesalahan Jenayah Syariah (Wilayah Persekutuan) 1997, "mana-mana orang yang menuduh orang lain melakukan zina (atau liwat) tanpa mengemukakan, mengikut hukum syarak, empat orang saksi lelaki atau ikrar orang yang dituduh itu adalah melakukan suatu kesalahan."

Jika disabitkan dengan kesalahan qazaf, seseorang boleh didenda tidak melebihi RM5,000 atau dipenjarakan selama tempoh tidak melebihi tiga tahun atau kedua-duanya.

3. Why did he choose you? Why not the PM? Ahmad Zahidi, the Religion Minister? Zaid Ibrahim, the Law Minister? Karpal Singh, the senior lawyer? Ustadh Hadi Awang, the Politician and PAS Leader? TG Nik Azziz? The Selangor Mufti? The Perlis Mufti? The ACA? The Police? His Parents? His fiancee? UMNO Youth? Foreign Embassies? Why did he chose you alone? And why is it so easy for him to meet you even in your highly guarded private home where you rest after work while even MPs can’t meet you there?

4. You denied seeing, meeting him on Monday. You said he has only met your officer for scholarship purposes (though he has one and left it). What happened to that statement? Why did you buckle?

5. The boy said he was sodomised one day before he lodged the police report, (Thursday), but you met him earlier and you said he came to complain of sodomy. This means he went to Anwar after meeting you to be sodomised again. You met him when Anwar was in the Holy City of Medina with Dr Aziza performing Umrah, when they came back on Wed. afternoon, the boy said he was sodomised on Thursday. But the boy has been meeting you before. Don’t you think you have sold out your very self?

6. You “told” the boy that it was “up to him”, in case he wanted to file a police report about the sodomy charge. (He he). But Mr DPM you know that sodomy is criminal even if it is out of consent. So how can you fail to order him to seek redress in a court of justice in relation to a crime? Is that’s how you want to lead the nation?... selanjutnya.

The length our politicians would go to just to secure their position as they felt Anwar is a threat to them...History is repeating itself again. And to see our ex PM saying that he is NOT SURPRISED that this happened just makes me wana laugh out loud. LOOK WHO's TALKING NOW.. the same guy that threw Anwar behind bars 10 years ago due to the same reasons. And come on, this tactic is getting stale and even a 10 year old kid could smell that something fishy is going on from a mile away. Let alone grown ups.
