With the federal government certain of taking over the existing water assets in Selangor and Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd (KDEB) assured of leading the consolidation of concessionaires in the state, Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd executive chairman Tan Sri Rozali Ismail is on the verge of exiting the industry.
Industry observers said the exit of Rozali, long the captain of the water industry in Selangor, was expected but the question now was the price he would be willing to relinquish the prized-assets to the government.
KDEB last Friday announced that the state government had been notified by Energy, Water and Communications Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor that the federal government was supportive of the proposed consolidation of the four water concessionaires in the state.
The reaffirmation by the federal government erased concerns on how KDEB planned to fund the consolidation exercise in Selangor, which was speculated to cost between RM8 billion and RM10 billion.
Apart from the consolidation exercise, the federal government has also set up a funding mechanism through Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd (PAAB) to take over the assets and liabilities of the concessionaires and would fund future capital expenditures.
Water assets in the state will be acquired and owned by PAAB and leased back to the asset operator, which will be, in this case, KDEB.
Initially, analysts were doutful of KDEB's ability to raise funds for the proposed consolidation exercise as based on the combined revenue of all the water-related companies to be taken over, with the net effect of it being barely able to cover interest payments.... selanjutnya.

Salahuddin tidak setuju Anwar bersumpah
Mstar | ....

10 Internet News Sites to Get Accreditation
redorbit | .... The Information Ministry will issue 10 online news sites with "media tags" which are given to media organisations "acknowledged" by the government.
These are the mainstream and vernacular newspapers, broadcast television channels and foreign wire agencies.
Bloggers, however, will not be given accreditation even if they report socio-political news as their sites are considered personal in nature.
A senior official with the Information Department said the 10 news portals were approved by the ministry's secretary-general and that future additions would have to be vetted by him.
The source named Malaysiakini, Agenda Daily and Malaysian Insider as some of the news portals that could apply for accreditation.
"We are in the process of issuing the passes.
"They can start applying to the department," said the official.
He said the move was in line with the ministry's decision to have "a more open policy". It is also in keeping with Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek's desire to engage the Internet media.

Bala, bala .... mana lah nko?
"We are still searching for him and want to take a statement from him on the statutory declarations he made recently," BERNAMA quoted his as saying after witnessing the handing-over of duties of the Pahang police chief here today.
Pahang deputy police chief Datuk Robiah Abdul Ghani is now acting state police chief with state chief Datuk Ayob Mohamed going on leave before retiring on Sept 8.
bla bla bla .......
"If he is scared, he can come with his lawyer, and if he asks for safety guarantee, we will fully cooperate with him by giving him security protection," Bernama quoted Bakri as saying. - Sun2surf
The police have no intention to pressure private investigator P. Balasubramaniam to come forward to have his statements recorded, Federal CID director Comm Datuk Mohd Bakri Zinin said.He said since the PI had made two statutory declarations, it was their job to investigate the matter promptly. - Star

- Soalan berikutnya adalah, gua tak tau pulak kalau gi oversea sekarang tak perlu kan passport dan penglibatan Imigresen. Passport dah tak guna kot? Kalau lah Si Bala tu gi Seberang laut, tak boleh ke nak check imigresen? Tak baik lah tuduh tuduh cam tu. Kita dok sebok cerita pasal mungkin mungkin .... Ntah ntah si Bala tu ada kat Putrajaya, tengah lepak. Sapa tau?

Ulasan Berita (Utusan Meloya)
cklee
Nak tergelak ada, nak ketawa ada, nak frust menonggeng pun ada. Bila saya baca utusan online pada hari ini, air mata saya nak mengalir rasanya. Tak tahulah kerana saya suka atau kerana saya sedih. Terkejut juga apabila Pak Lah marah-marah. Ataupun dia buat-buat marah. Ataupun dia baru je mamai terkejut dari tidur. Atau.. atau...
Tajuk beritanya - PM: Satu pengkhianatan Perbuatan sebar fitnah, bohong timbulkan persepsi negatif negara
Oleh HELMI MOHD. FOAD
... selanjutnya.

Cops not pressuring Bala to come forward
Star | The police have no intention to pressure private investigator P. Balasubramaniam to come forward to have his statements recorded, Federal CID director Comm Datuk Mohd Bakri Zinin said.
He said since the PI had made two statutory declarations, it was their job to investigate the matter promptly.
"We are still in the midst of tracking his whereabouts and we are seeking the help of Interpol. We have also alerted all exit points out of the country.
"We do not rule out the possibility that he may be overseas," he said Tuesday when met after witnessing the handover of duties of state police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Ayob Mohamed here.
Comm Mohd Bakri said Balasubramaniam had no reason to be afraid and could bring along his lawyer to the police station.... selanjutnya.

Will Interpol entertain PDRM's request to track down Bala?
mrsmith | .... INTERPOL is the world’s largest international police organization, with 186 member countries. Created in 1923, it facilitates cross-border police co-operation, and supports and assists all organizations, authorities and services whose mission is to prevent or combat international crime.
INTERPOL aims to facilitate international police co-operation even where diplomatic relations do not exist between particular countries. Action is taken within the limits of existing laws in different countries and in the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. INTERPOL’s constitution prohibits ‘any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character.’ (http://www.interpol.int/Public/ICPO/default.asp0
So the Malaysian Police is seeking the help of Interpol P. Balasumramaniam. Something is not right here. What crime is he wanted for?
I do not know how the police functions but I do have some common sense.
Take a look at the Interpol website. (URL given above). It clearly states that its mission "is to prevent or combat international crime" and it goes on to say that its constitution "prohibits ‘any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character".
My question: Is Bala wanted in connection with international crime?
If Bala is a criminal, why was he allowed to slip off so easily with his entire family. ... selanjutnya.
