Hello Pewaris ... apa komen?

Chua: Kita tidak terima Ketuanan Melayu
malaysia | ...

"Bila kita berkata tolak 'Ketuanan Melayu', kita bukannya mencabar hak-hak istimewa orang Melayu. Ianya terkandung dalam perlembagaan kita dan tiada siapa pun boleh mengenetapikan pada masa ini.... more.
Kita tengok kan silat pewaris dan pekida bila MCA sendiri tolak ketuanan Melayu .... .wakakakakakk

Will 4 MCA Ministers resign en masse if Anwar arrested under ISA?

limkitsiang | ...Are the four MCA Ministers prepared to take the lead in the Cabinet to make it very clear that any ISA arrest of Parliamentary Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will result in their mass resignation?

This is because the detention of Anwar Ibrahim under the ISA seems to be on the cards after the uncharacteristically belligerent accusation by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Wednesday that Anwar is a threat to the national security and economy who wanted to “destroy the country and exploit the people’s trust and tarnish the country’s image abroad”, followed by equally truculent statements against Anwar by Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the Home Minister, Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar in the past few days.

Are the MCA Ministers and leaders going to make it very clear to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister that the deepening multiple crisis of confidence in the past six months since the first political tsunami on March 8 will take drastic turn for the worse as nobody in his right senses would believe that Anwar should be detained under the ISA?... selanjutnya.

Teh: Wanita MCA leader used money to buy 5 branches

sun2surf - Klang MCA chief Datuk Teh Kim Poo claims a Wanita leader eying his post is playing money politics and has "bought over" at least five branches under the division in preparation for the party elections this year.

Oriental Daily News reported today that Teh, the former Pandamaran assemblyman, said the Wanita leader has used money to lobby for support with the help of two community leaders cum businessmen.

He said the five branches "bought over" by her are mainly new branches which have good ties with leaders of local community groups and temple associations.
Teh disclosed this during an interaction session with visiting MCA state liaison chief Datuk Ong Tee Keat in the division's new building in Pandamaran on Tuesday (May 20) night.

Commenting on Teh's allegation, Ong, who is party vice-president and Transport Minister, said he will meet up with deputy president Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy, who heads the party's disciplinary committee, next week to discuss the matter.

Earlier, Teh told the interaction session, which was also attended by youth and wanita leaders, that although a number of problems cropped up within the party following its dismal performance in the March 8 polls, Klang MCA has remained united and continued to serve the people.... selanjutnya.

IGNORE THIS STUPID NEWS

MCA slams Pas' Islamic state plan
NST - "This is what the MCA has long been warning the people about; that Pas has this ulterior motive of trying to force upon the country the concept of an Islamic state," said Ong yesterday in a "I told you so" manner, after chairing the party's presidential council meeting.

Ong said during the recent election, Pas had put on the "friendly mask" of wanting to create a welfare state to attract voters.

But now, the "ugly tail" of wanting to form an Islamic state has again shown itself.
"This is something multiracial Malaysia cannot accept. MCA is strongly against it and we think a lot of the non-Muslim parties will agree with us," he said.

Asked why he chose to speak up now when both Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had both declared Malaysia to be an Islamic state last year, Ong said the MCA's stand had always been with the Constitution.

"No matter who says what about the status of Malaysia, we stand by the Constitution. People can try to label Malaysia with different names. But what they cannot do is to change the make-up of the Constitution."

"In the Constitution, it is stated that Malaysia is a secular state. This was discussed and agreed to by the founding fathers. It was agreed that all the different races and their different beliefs will be accommodated," Ong said. more...

Perak MCA cari makan deal

maverickysm - Kenny KS Yap is the owner of a soy factory which occupies 0.92ha of state land located in Pasir Pinji, Ipoh, has been occupied by a soy factory operator since 1953. Over the ages, Yap had applied to the Perak State Government for the land which is leased to him under the Temporary Occupation Licence (TOL).

According to a reliable source, the chairperson of the Ipoh Timur MCA division Chew Wai Khoon had applied for a 2.18 acres of land which included 0.92 ha of land occupied by the soy factory.

Details now emerge that the MCA division had intended to make a tidy profit from the land deal by selling the portion occupied by the soy factor to Yap.

When contacted by Malaysiakini, one of the three signatories (appointed trustees of the Ipoh Timur division) deputy chairman of the division Thong Fah Chong confirmed the details of the deal.

He said that he had refused to sign the Sale and Purchase letter document (dated 24 March 2008) because he felt the land transaction was improper and immoral.

The other two trustees who signed the letter (bearing the name of the division) were Chew and division secretary Liew Ah Ming.

Thong reveals that State MCA chairman and brother to MCA president Datuk Ong Ka Chuan had played a role in the land deal as evidenced by his contribution of a RM100,000 cheque as part payment for the land premium of RM387,262,

Thong said that many party members can act as witnesses to the cheque contribution although Ka Chuan had since taken back the cheque. more...

MCA SUDAH MULAKAN BABAKNYA

Radenjowo
MCA mulakan lakonan arahan UMNO.

Perbalahan kuasa MCA mirip parti UMNO tapi sepet matanya.

MCA bantah kenyataan Tengku Faris

Running dog running scared
(...) Barisan Nasional realises that Umno can keep talking but the Malays will just turn a deaf ear. So now they are getting MCA to do the talking. And MCA is touching on an issue worse than race. They are talking about Islam. Religion is worse than race. Religion can even make people of the same race kill each other like in India, the UK, etc. So it would be more effective to whack Islam than to raise the issue of race. And if it is non-Muslims who whack Islam, then be ready for blood on the streets.

MCA is the true running dog of Umno. Sabah and Sarawak won 54 Parliament seats but they were offered only seven Cabinet posts, five mere Deputy Ministers on top of that. MCA, however, won only 15 Parliament seats but they were given 13 Cabinet positions. Another two and all the MCA Parliamentarians would be in the government. So MCA has almost as much to lose as Umno and they would be very prepared to assist Umno in this race-religious divide game just to protect their positions in the government and to remain the deputy taiko of Barisan Nasional.

Yes, we can see Umno’s sins. We can see how Umno plays the race card. We can see how Umno plays the dangerous game of racial politics. But what we don’t see is MCA also playing the more dangerous game of Islam whacking. more...
Berjayakah mereka bodohkan bangsa sendiri?

MCA GUNA GAMBAR TANPA KEBENARAN

Jurugambar buat laporan polis gambar digunakan parti politik tanpa kebenaran

- Bernama

MCA's "traitors" answer Umno's "running dogs"

jameswongwingon-

According to MCA-owned The Star, the BN component party "will go all out to identify those (members) who betray the party by campaigning for the opposition" but my very good friend in MCA just telephoned to respond by suggesting that 'conscientious' MCA leaders, members and supporters must really unite to purge all "Umno's running dogs" in the coming party election. He also reiterated the earlier call of his group for all 'conscientious comrades' not to support Umno's extremists and nonsensical characters in their constituencies in the general election.

MCA plays dirty in postering

Can you spot the giant Rocket?

colour-blind.org

MCA played dirty by covering up our giant Rocket (some 30 feet tall) erected opposte its Pandamaran office. It’s an election offence under the elelction act.

In the presence of the enforcement team from SPR, the Pandamaran village head who happens to be an MCA leader reached an agreement with me that they would take down their flaglines covering the giant Rocket after we have taken down several flaglines covering Teh’s giant billboard at the Pandamaran B school. But he subsequently failed to honour the agreement after the intervention of Mr and Mrs Teh Kom Poo (my opponent in N 47 Pandamaran). Even the SPR and Police were upset with MCA leaders’ attitude.

We left at 2am, leaving the matter with the SPR enforcement team which has failed to enforce the election rules and regulations.

As a BERSIH leader, I challenged the SPR team to take action against the Barisan Nasional candidate to prove its integrity. But they have failed miserably. (What do you expect when SPR is still under the chairmanship of Tan Sri Rashid?)

MCA SENT LETTERS TO OVERSEAS STUDENT

Letter from Ong Ka Ting to JPA students
educationmalaysia

I got wind of a story that MCA President Ong Ka Ting recently sent out an email to Chinese JPA scholars. I'll reproduce the letter below and then share my thoughts after that.

Greetings to all JPA students all over the world! Its certainly a privilege to be a star student, standing tall as young Malaysians living overseas. I am sure you do your family proud, and I hope you will cherish this moment for the rest of your life, especially at this time of the year when the cheerful holiday mood is abound.

2007 has been a year of many lessons learnt for many nations. As other cities burn in turmoil, violence and disruption, Malaysia has thankfully weathered our difficulties in a peaceful manner to ensure that we have continued harmony and unity among the races. Amidst some tough economic times ahead, with worries of escalating global oil prices, every day living will increasingly be challenged. Similarly, Malaysia will also need to brace itself for such a period by remaining economically relevant and globally competitive.

The Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) has worked hard over the last eight years to ensure that the community's best and most talented receive top class education for deserving people such as yourself. While it is understandable that the world over is also vying for the best that it can attract into their labour force, it also our hope that our own students and graduates return to their homeland to serve their country.

MCA is also actively playing a role to help returning graduates and local talents who have a special interest in serving in the government. Civil service diversity is critical to address moderation, fairness and balance in the implementation and enforcement of our nation's laws and regulations at all levels. So important is this point that MCA has set up a secretariat/service centre to handle first hand the enquiries and issues pertaining to application, entry and even promotion in the Malaysian civil service.

MCA hopes that our efforts to build the nation and community can be realized with your appreciation as well as your service so that you, your family as well as your friends can enjoy the fruits of our peaceful nation forever.

MCA wishes you a good year ahead! And Happy New Year!

Ong Ka Ting

President, MCA

Firstly, whoever sent this email out on behalf of Ka Ting, did not BCC the recipients of the email so that the privacy of these JPA scholars were not protected.

Secondly, I strongly feel that ALL JPA scholars should return to serve out their bond in Malaysia, failing which, they should be asked to pay back the value of their bond. This should not just be a call out to Chinese JPA scholars. I feel that JPA scholars can contribute a great deal towards professionalizing the improving the state of our civil service at all levels. Hence, this is a task that should be performed by JPA scholars of ALL races rather than just one race.

Thirdly, I think the move by the MCA President to send out this letter ONLY to Chinese JPA scholars can be counterproductive. Does this mean that the UMNO President and the MIC President and the PBS president and the PBB president should send out letters to Malay, Indian, Kadazan and Melanau students asking them to return to Malaysia? Will this not result in the politicization of the civil service, something that a wise MCA leader would not want to occur?

I think most of us who are reasonable can agree that we should have a professional civil service where promotions and positions are based on merit and performance rather than race or know who. The fact that the MCA president can appeal to Chinese JPA scholars to join the civil service might lead UMNO and the other component parties to do the same. Hence, we are back to a situation where individual parties in the BN are 'championing' candidates from their respective races within the civil service! This is counterproductive for the likes of MCA because the dominant party within the BN is UMNO and it does not take a genius to figure out who will win out politically at the end of the day! Politicizing the bureaucracy this way (beyond what it already is) is a double edged sword for the MCA, one which it would be wise to avoid.

I think it's much better for MCA to try to work together with other parties within the BN to push for some sort of program which will make better use of the human resources which are the JPA scholars. Right now, most JPA scholars don't return to Malaysia to serve out their bond or even if they return to Malaysia, most of them are 'lost' to the private sector. There just isn't a comprehensive, fast track, specialized management trainee type positions for JPA scholars within the Malaysian civil service. JPA scholars, if they do ever get into the civil service system, are treated as run of the mill civil servants instead of students whom the government has invested millions and millions of dollars in.

MCA cannot just 'stick' any JPA scholar into the civil service system. He or she will get discouraged and bogged down in the routine of the civil service and quickly quit public service. A much better idea would be for the government to come up with a special program that recognizes the skills and abilities of these JPA scholars and put them on a fast track within the civil service including stints in different departments to make their jobs more challenging and interesting. This kind of practice is already quite widespread in many MNCs in Malaysia in what are known as management trainee programs. Why not try to do the same within the civil service in Malaysia?

Most of the JPA scholars would not want to take up 'political positions' within the civil service for MCA ministers, deputy ministers and parliamentary secretaries. Most of these politicians have special assistants, personal and political secretaries and while these people are technically civil servants, their jobs are very much political in nature, which might not appeal to many JPA scholars. These jobs are also not 'stable' jobs in that if a certain minister loses his or her position, so does the people working for this minister. So, unless the MCA President can put these Chinese JPA scholars into positions within the civil service which are sufficiently challenging and rewarding from a career perspective, whatever which is proposed is only a short term palliative which is bound to fail as JPA scholars drop like flies in the civil service.

So my proposal to the MCA president is this: Try to work within the government to create a fast track position for ALL JPA scholars where their skills are recognized and can be utilized properly instead of trying to 'fit' a handful of JPA Chinese scholars into positions which they might not be interested in and are likely to be swamped by the larger bureaucracy within the civil service. This would yield more rewards for ALL Malaysians including the Chinese constituency which the MCA President wants to represent.
