Cops complete probe into Umno leader’s comment

Star | ...OCPD Asst Comm Azam Abd Hamid said the case file was taken to Bukit Aman by the investigating officer on Friday after statements were taken from the Umno leader and reporters who attended the press conference.

“Any action to be taken against Azhar will depend on my superiors’ recommendation. We have classified the case as criminal intimidation under Section 507 of the Penal Code,” he said.

Komtar assemblyman Ng Wei Aik made a report against Azhar at the Patani Road police station on Tuesday, alleging that Azhar had said if there was any racial tension, a certain reporter should be the first to be shot.

A VCD of the press conference, which took place at the state Umno building in Macalister Road, with a video clip of the threat, was also handed over to the investigating officer..... selanjutnya.
