Star | Tenaga Nasional Berhad has been urged to lower electric charges in tandem with the reduced fuel prices.
MCA Central Committee member Wong Nai Chee said the MCA welcomed the announcement by the Prime Minister on reduced fuel rates and urged TNB to reduce theirs by 14.8% in tandem with the percentage of reduction of petrol from RM2.70 per litre on June 14 to the current RM2.30.
“Since TNB is one of the GLCs involved in the national privatisation project, it should provide proper and good services to the public based on reasonable charges,” he said in a statement yesterday.
“If TNB is not willing to decrease its electricity charges, the Government should consider liberalising the electric market,” he added.
He also urged the transport industry to adjust their transport fees to mitigate inflation.
no2umno - kenapa bukan UMNO yang cadangkan? Bukan kah mentaliti UMNO tak perasan semua ni ... Kalau dah dungu ... sampai bila pun dungu, kalau malas nak belajar.
