Owners of vehicles used in illegal sand mining activities may be prevented from renewing their commercial vehicle licences in the future.
Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the state government was looking into the possibility of working together with the Federal Government on the matter.
He was commenting on three burst water pipes in Kampung Revolusi Hijau in Sepang on Thursday which were believed to have been caused by sand mining activities.
The incident disrupted supply to 75,000 households in Sepang, Kuala Langat and Hulu Langat.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) had said in a statement that the damage was believed to be from sand mining activities.
This is the second case of water disruption suspected to be caused by dredgers and sand mining activities.... selanjutnya.
