Star | Perak will seek a stop work order against the Federal Government’s Marine Department if proven that its sand dredging work in Sungai Dinding is killing millions of fish and prawn livestock.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin said the state should be able to make a decision after studying reports from various agencies and Universiti Sains Malaysia on Monday.
It was reported on Oct 10 that fish breeders blamed sand dredging works, initiated by the department under the Transport Ministry to deepen Sungai Dinding, for killing RM1.5mil in livestock.
Many of the farmers claimed that their stocks began dying around July soon after the dredging works started.... selanjutnya.
