RM200,000 car set on fire outside house
BUKIT MERTAJAM: A multi-purpose vehicle costing more than RM200,000 was set on fire early yesterday.
It belonged to Abdul Aziz Sheik Ahmad, 40, the owner of Restoran Dinas Nasi Kandar.
He realised that his Nissan Elgrand, parked in front of his house in Taman Alma Jaya here was on fire when he heard an explosion at 5am.
With the help of family members and neighbours, he managed to put out the fire but the vehicle was badly damaged.
When contacted, he said his house was also splattered with blood and red paint. There was a package containing a cow's head in the front yard.
Aziz lodged a report at the Machang Bubuk police station.
Aziz, who is also former Permatang Pauh Umno Youth treasurer, did not dismiss politics as the motive for the attack. He claimed to have no enemies in business.
Aziz said last year, he was told people wanted to burn down his garment factory in Alma but did not lodge a police report as this did not happen.
Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief ACP Mohd Anil Shah Abdullah said no arrests had been made. -- Bernama
