NIBONG TEBAL: The state has discovered a pending land deal case worth RM13 million against the government.
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the state was surprised to find another land deal case against the government, but he refused to identify who were involved.
"We are shocked at our findings and are concerned.
"We are hesitant in planning and committing to the people, because we will be faced with insufficient funds if we do.
"As it is we have a deficit account.
"The case has been pending in court for about three years and the plaintiff is claiming for RM13.5 million from the state. No one has alerted us about the case and we discovered it in our own investigations," he said after opening a service centre at Bukit Taman Indah in Batu Kawan here last night.
Lim, however refused to elaborate, but said the state would reveal the details after completing the investigations.
