Police are looking for a man who threatened a RapidPenang bus driver with a parang here two weeks ago.
State acting chief police officer Datuk Salleh Md Rashid said police had received a detailed description of the suspect following a report made by the bus driver.
"We are now tracing him," he said.
Salleh said the suspect had been identified as a former employee of a local bus company. He had had allegedly held a parang to the driver's neck and threatened to chop off.
As a result of the incident, RapidPenang decided not to use the Komtar bus interchange to pick-up and drop-off passengers. Their buses now stop at along Jalan Datuk Keramat, Jalan Penang and Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong instead.
Its chief operating officer Azhar Ahmad said the move was to safeguard its drivers and passengers
