antara | Kuala Lumpur, (ANTARA News/Reuters) - Malaysian opposition figure Anwar Ibrahim is likely to be released on bail on Wednesday, a police source said, after he was arrested on allegations of sodomy.
"He will probably be released on police bail tonight," said the police source who declined to be identified. "Hopefully."
Anwar`s lawyers, William Leong and Sankara Nair, said the former deputy premier was being taken to hospital for a medical examination after giving his statement to the police on the sodomy complaint by a former aide. They did not elaborate.
