HardT | The Pakatan Rakyat-led Perak government’s boycott of Malay daily "Utusan Malaysia" takes a new twist today with the Ipoh City Council (MBI) withdrawing the free city parking facility for the newspaper’s reporters and photographers.
A MBI spokesman said the council received a directive from the state government to issue the free parking stickers to all news organisations, except Utusan Malaysia.
MBI also said it would no longer limit the free parking facility to only four stickers for each organisation.
"However, for the new application, Utusan Malaysia need not apply," the spokesman said.
The Perak government boycotted Utusan Malaysia and its Sunday edition Mingguan Malaysia since June 17, due to what it said was its inclination to play up racial sentiments in its news coverage
