hardT - [...] Malaysia police plan to deploy soldiers in the streets to fight maintaining public order which included demonstrations following moves by certain groups harbouring particular agendas.
A “security package” designed initially to help resolve tensions mount after the latest claim by former Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim special assistant Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan that he was sodomised by DSAI.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan today when asked whether soldiers would be deployed in maintaining public order should a demonstration take place said: “Only if the situation gets serious or in emergency.”
AND... today...
The police and military forces launched a joint security exercise, a first following a series of
discussion between them from 2006.
Through the exercise, the police and military can learn new strategies and procedures in dealing with public order issues. It is their joint responsibility to ensuring public and national security.
The joint forces also test the capabilities, swiftness and coordination of both forces in terms of
logistics and personnel in facing problematic scenarios in public order.... selanjutnya.
