Spotlight swings back on Pak Lah vs Dr M

malaysiainsider - Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is set to push his reform agenda forward tomorrow by announcing a restructuring of the Anti-Corruption Agency. But the prime minister will have to share the limelight with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who will be appearing on popular BBC current affairs show, "HardTalk".

The Insider has learnt that Abdullah plans to keep the momentum on reforms going for the next few months as he attempts to persuade Malaysians that he has the political will to overhaul the judicial and administrative system of the country. Civil servants and senior politicians have been beating a path to his office and Sri Perdana following the elections on March 8 with ideas on improving governance, distribution of wealth, race relations and fighting corruption.

The ACA have put forward several plans on making the agency more independent. Abdullah is scheduled to make an announcement at a seminar on national integrity on Monday where he will say that the ACA will be modeled after Hong Kong’s ICAC. more...
