NST - The four Umno divisional leaders from Sabah who met Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi last week did not attend the party’s state liaison committee meeting here on Thursday night. Also absent were state Umno deputy chief Datuk Shafie Apdal, who is also Semporna division chief, and Beaufort division chief Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin.
Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Musa Aman said all the party’s 25 divisional chiefs were informed about the meeting.
“I was told that they are away in Kuala Lumpur and could not get a flight to return in time for this meeting,” he told reporters today after chairing the meeting at his official residence, Sri Gaya.
The four divisional chiefs who met the Prime Minister were Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia (Kota Marudu), Datuk Abdul Ghapur Salleh (Kalabakan), Datuk Bung Mokthar Radin (Kinabatangan) and Datuk Abdul Rahim Ismail (Papar).
They met Abdullah in Putra Jaya last Sunday together with former Kota Belud MP Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak and former Sipitang MP Datuk Dr Yusof Yaacob amid clamour for a bigger Sabah representation at the federal level. more...
