Former Sabah chief minister Datuk Osu Sukam’s bid to make a return to active politics was dashed when he lost to Datuk Abdul Rahim Ismail in the contest for the Papar Umno division chief post today.Opppssss ... salah letak image.
Abdul Rahim, 59, the state assemblyman for Pantai Manis, garnered 212 votes while Osu received 178 votes.
The assemblyman had been acting chief since 2005 when Osu resigned after newspapers reported that he owed two casinos in the United Kingdom in excess of RM7 million.
On Nov 1, Osu declared that he would be contesting the Papar Umno chief post after Umno secretary general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said he qualified to contest.... malaysianinsider
