(Daily Express) - Labuan: A businesswoman has lodged a report against the internet news portal Malaysia Today for allegedly carrying a series of comments, allegations and remarks deemed as insulting, defaming and having bad intention on her.
Emelda Doliente @ Norsiah Abdullah made the report at the Labuan Police Station Friday, claiming the allegation carried by Malaysia Today in its web has tarnished her image and reputation.
She said the report lodged was to enable a police investigation before proceeding to legal action against those involved. In her report, Norsiah also stated that she wanted the person who made the statement with his picture posted on the Malaysia Today web to come forward to clear his statement because the said person had claimed he was not involved.
The report mentioned Parti Keadilan Rakyat youth chief Zainuddin Hassan @ Simon as the person responsible for making the statement.
"I have spoken to Zainuddin said to be the Parti Keadilan Rakyat youth chief and he denied it. I would like him to come up with a denial statement and to tell police that his name had been used by certain party," she said.
"I'm not a politician but a businesswoman with no political connection," she said. The case is being investigated under Section 266 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
