sun2surf - Altantuya Shaariibuu’s father Shaariibuu Setev handed four notes handwritten on sheets of a Hotel Malaya memo pad to investigating officer ASP Tonny Lunggan on June 25, 2007, a week after the murder trial began, the court heard today.
Tonny, who is the prosecution’s 75th witness, said Shaariibuu handed the four handwritten notes and an envelope to him outside the courtroom on June 25, last year.
According to Setev, Altantuya’s cousin Amy had found the letter and envelope in Altantuya’s bag, said Tonny, adding that he spoke to Setev through an interpreter.
Tonny said he sent the note to the Chemistry Department for a handwriting analysis to be conducted the very next day.
He said the Chemistry Department returned the analysis report, the four memo sheets and the envelope to the police on June 28, 2007.
Earlier, Tonny told the court how he, Supt Amidon Anan from the Crime Scene Investigation Department and photographer L/Cpl Rozaimi went to Hotel Malaya on May 29, 2007, to view the tapes, which contained images of two of the accused, C/Insp Azilah Hadri and Cpl Sirul Azhar Umar.
