sun2urf - Gerakan has issued its central committee member and Federal Territory chief Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong a show-cause letter for taking up a post with the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) government of Selangor.
Its secretary-general Datuk Seri Chia Kwang Chye said today he had sent the letter asking why action should not be taken against the 61-year-old Tan for breaching party discipline by joining the administration of the opposing political coalition, as reported today.
"We have party rules and regulations on the discipline of our members. As members, we have to act according to these rules."
Tan, a former deputy land and cooperative development minister, accepted the post of co-chairman of Selangor's special task force on land issues earlier this week.
His action reprises Datuk Lee Kah Choon’s move to accept the Penang government's offer to assume posts of InvestPenang executive chairman and Penang Development Corporation director while he was still a Gerakan member.
Lee quit Gerakan on April 23 after being issued a show-cause letter.... selanjutnya.
