Sultan orders Perak MB to reinstate Jamry after 'unauthorised' transfer

Barely 48 hours after the Pakatan Rakyat-led Perak Government transferred him, Datuk Jamry Sury is to be reinstated as Perak religious department director on the orders of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah.
The decision was conveyed to Perak Menteri Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin after he was summoned by the Ruler at Istana Raja Muda in Ipoh today, Datuk Abd Rahim Mohamad Nor, private secretary to Sultan Azlan Shah, said in a statement.

On Tuesday, Nizar had ordered Jamry to be transferred immediately on grounds that the latter refused to cooperate with the Pakatan Rakyat state government although the Mentri Besar characterised the transfer as "normal."

Abd Rahim said the Ruler had informed Mohammad Nizar that in his capacity as State religious director, Jamry also held the position of secretary of the Perak Islamic Affairs and Malay Customs Council (MAIAMP), and that Jamry’s appointment was with the Ruler’s consent. more at NST
