KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 4 (Bernama) -- Syarikat Lian Hoe Omnibus Company Sdn Bhd and its board of directors have been blacklisted from obtaining any licence following the bus company's move to terminate its services yesterday without notice.
The Chairman of the Commercial Vehicles Licencing Board (CVLB), Datuk Markiman Kobiran said the CVLB Southern Region only received notice from the company which terminated the services of its stage buses in Batu Pahat and Muar town on the same day merely through the facsimile.
"Such action has caused inconvenience to the public and is contrary to Section 19 (1)(a)(ii) of the CVLB Act 1987 which stipulates that every public transport operator provides services in the area allocated to them," he said in a statement, here today.
Markiman said that following the termination, the CVLB had directed the Mayang Sari bus company, which is based in Muar, to take over operations in the routes affected to ensure continued service to the public.
A total of 59 licences are involved in the termination of the bus services including the Batu Pahat-Muar Route (16 licences), Batu Pahat-Seri Medan (five licences), Batu Pahat-Yong Peng (12 licences), Batu Pahat-Parit Sulong (seven licences) and the vicinity of Muar town (19 licences).
