malaysianinsider - Little Vaishnavi is tasked with the important job of handing over a memorandum to the King seeking royal intervention to free P. Uthayakumar and four others, known together as the Hindraf 5, from Internal Security Act detention.
The five-year-old daughter of Hindraf chairperson P. Waythamoorthy, currently in self-exile in London, was accompanied by about 30 supporters to the palace gates in Kuala Lumpur about 11.15am today. She also handed over roses to a palace official, known only as Puan Zainab, who came out to meet the Hindraf group.
The memorandum was in response to newspaper reports that the King had consented to a two-year detention of the Hindraf 5, as recommended by the government.
Apart from Uthayakumar, the other four behind bars are M. Manoharan, V. Ganabatirau, R. Kenghadharan and T. Vasantha Kumar.

Dear Tuanku,
If I may also appeal, if tuanku could also please consider the release of some 80 other personnel languihing in Kamunting some as long as 6 years. I wish to represent their families which many have undergone sincere hardship since their incarceration. Like the Hindraf's five, they ware also accused of having links with extremist outside of Malaysia. I am hopeful tuanku would earnestly and sincerely consider this plea inclusive of the Hindraf 5, many txs. Kapral woulsd be proud.
